OC Fair countdown
Who doesn’t love the Orange County fair? Even as I get older and have started to develop some sort of weird agoraphobia, I still enjoy a good day at the fair. Orange County is pretty damn big. With more than 3.5 million people and more than 36 cities (and always growing), Orange County is so spread out and each zip code has its own charm and demographic makeup. It is very hard to get a taste of all the walks of life that makeup Orange County in one place, at one time. But, go to the Orange County Fair and you can run into all different sorts of folks, all enjoying some of the same experiences, foods, libations – partaking in all things common to all people. There’s deep-fried food galore, cold beer and cotton candy. There’s carnival games, petting zoos, pig races and live entertainment. Not to mention my favorite – great people watching. The fair has it all and without the $87 ticket price of going to Disneyland (general admission to the fair is only $11, $6 for children 6-12 years old).
This year’s fair theme is “Home Sweet Home” and the fair opens on July 13th and runs through August 12th (open Wednesday-Sunday). In addition to the great food, animals, agriculture, rides, exhibits and contests, there is also an amazing line-up of concerts at the Pacific Amphitheatre during Fair. My family has been to plenty of shows at the fairgrounds and what a venue – right under the stars after a great day at the fair! See the complete lineup of 2012 summer shows.

Hot Chelle Rae is a pop rock band from Nashville, TN that gained widespread recognition for their 2011 double platinum single, Tonight Tonight. Allstar Weekend is another pop band from Poway, California that gained popularity from the Disney Channel. If you have not heard of these bands, just ask your teenage daughter, niece or neighbor.
I recently moved to Aliso Viejo from a small desert town in Arizona after 20 years. I have never been to OC Fair or any concert in my life and I would really love to go. I’ve heard many amazing things about the fair and now that I am living in the city, I would love to take my relatives to the fair for a fun filled day! =)

The fair is just good wholesome fun. For a day (or more), you can escape the nuances of metropolitan city life and enjoy the rural stylings of the fair; farm animals, fatty foods, fun with friends and family. =)
I love the food and I love that it is not as big and crowded as the la county fair it is by farmy favoritefair to go to
food, friends, and good old fashion fun in an age where most of our time is spent attached to technology. summer at the OC fair is the perfect way to celebrate finishing my first year at college.
I grew up in Orange County in the 60′s and love seeing how far the fair has come. I go with my kids and it brings back so many memories. I enjoy the entertainment the most (concerts and free acts:)
I love going to the OC Fair each year. It’s so nice to get away from the usual routine and enjoy a whole day out with my children. There is so much for everyone to enjoy. My favorite thing at the fair is going on the rides with my children, ages 5 through 16. The food is scrumptious and the shows throughout the day are great entertainment for everyone. I hope I could win these tickets so I could take my family this year!
I love going to the OC Fair! It’s the only fair I like to go to, it’s always clean and has some great rides. There are so many different food places, i like to try all the different types of food! I even tried a deep fried oreo there, it was really good!!
I LOVE THE OC FAIR
While I have never been to this fair, i have heard nothing but good things about it from my brother. I am traveling from Louisiana to spend the summer with him, his wife, and my nephew. Winning these tickets would be a nice little surprise for them, who doesn’t love a concert?
I love the oc fair. Especially the deep fried food..and the bbq corn.

I’ve gone to the OC Fair for as long as I can remember. I love everything about it- the food, animals, carnival rides, and shows. Just the atmosphere itself is refreshing. My family and I are regulars. We have a tradition where my sisters and I always get face painting done from the same booth [we know the owner on a first name basis we go so much]. We recently started going to demolition derbies. They are so much fun! I’ve seen a lot of concerts at the fair, and in 2010 I submitted my Harry Potter collection for the youth collections contest and I ended up winning! Overall, the OC Fair has become a part of my summer. I love seeing people from all over the county gather to experience what the fair has to offer!
I love the OC Fair! Where else can you get deep fried oreos/twinkies/pizza, turkey legs, world’s largest horse/oxen and all the fun little animals in one place? We try to make it a ritual to go at least once, even if it means jus twalking around and enjoying each other’s company. So many memories have been made here and I’m excited I get to go this year! Unfortunately last year I wasn’t able to go due to some other obligation but I am definitely not missing this years event! I love the free shows like the hypnotist and the circus acts! I cannot wait! And I may be an adult but will always be a disney kid at heart <3
One of the best fairs! The OC fair is amazing! There isn’t one minute where I’m not enjoying myself with my family. The entertainment is exceptional and the food is delicious! It really worth the 1 hour drive from the valley.
Love taking my boys every year, when possible. Love to visit the farm animals, especially the little piglets.
Great way to spend time with my family and something for everyone.
The OC fair is so much fun! I love the games and the free concerts. It gives me a chance to experience new artists while being in a “warm” and welcoming environment.

I love the OC Fair because its an event where my whole family can participate. It has been a family tradition now for at least 10 years where we go to the OC Fair.

What I love most about the OC FAIR… the instant memories! I go with my daughters (15 & 17) and I remember taking them as toddlers. Their wide-eyed wonder and excitement! See them grow in a flash of memories over the years and when they say or do something now that was exactly like when they were little always brings an overwhelming joy! I grew up going to the OC FAIR myself and it is fun to share those memories with my kids. Now they talk of College and summer jobs… to take them to the OC FAIR would be such a blessing.

We were able to see a brand new baby pig be born right in front of us! It was an experienc we will never forget! My boys love the animals!
what i love about the oc fair is the traditions my parents did with me like seeing the animals in the farm and seeing all the art exhibits. I love being able to pass the traditions down to my kids and i love seeing their faces light up with excitement over things they have seen for the first time!

My family and I love looking at all the exhibits and of course ending a fun fair day with funnel cake loaded up with strawberries and whipped cream!
I love going to the fair with my 3 and 4 year old. They allow me to see things that I normally wouldn’t. Everything is fascinating to them – the lights, people, animals, etc. It’s worth every second to be there with them!
