Lets Talk Target
I will never forget when the first Target Store in my “neighborhood”, ( by neighborhood I mean a town of about 200,000 people at the time) in Huntington Beach opened. It was right off Beach Blvd, the busiest street It was really love at first sight. I have no idea why. Maybe it was because it was an entire center of all new stores and it seemed so much more sophisticated. In later years especially now, I miss the laid back beach town it was for so many years. There was already a similar store called Gemco and of course a little further up the Beach Blvd there was K-mart. I was never a fan of K-mart, it seemed like an indoor garage sale to me but in fairness, they have definitely improved since the 80′s.
The first time I walked into Target it was so clean, brightly lit and organized. They had everything and I wanted everything they had. The prices were so reasonable, and though it was considered sort of a discount type of department store, it never seemed like you were buying cheap worthless items. Even though I’m sure I wasn’t the one paying, it was love at first check out. And I guess it’s been about 25 years now but I still feel the same way. In fact I like the store even more now. Target has really done well by keeping current, following trend in everything from clothing to household décor, they keep it fresh and current. I always look forward to a trip to Target.
So, I am super excited to announce that I am now officially an affiliate for Target. Through my blog here at OC Family and my Facebook fan page, Meals, Steals & Family Deals,I now get to offer special sales links and offers to my readers.
One of the first things I would like to mention about Target is the coupons. Target has its own coupon generator. Because they bar coded with Target codes, you can also use Target coupons with manufacturer coupons. This is called Stacking. Stacking is like getting double coupons and since very few grocery chains offer this, it makes it even better. This what the Target Coupon page looks like:
This week there are approx 214 Target coupon available worth over $395. This includes Grocery, clothing, housewares…everything.
You will find the most stackable coupons in the grocery section.

One thing to note, not all cashiers understand coupons, especially when you want to stack them. It’s actually the way the target computer/ cash registers process coupons so don’t get frustrated with the clerk because likely they don’t know why it’s happening either. For example, Lets say Mac & Cheese is on sale for .79 cents each, and you have a coupon that says $1.00 off 2 of an item, the total for both would be $1.58 less you $1.00 coupon, .58 cents for both. But Target system will sometimes auto correct your $1.00 coupon to the .79 cent sale price. However, it is NOT right. Target gets reimbursed the full $1.00 from the manufacturer. It’s not that big of a deal .21 cents right? Well it is a big deal if you do your grocery shopping and buy 50-60 items. It all ads up. It could end up being a difference of saving another $25-$30 off your receipt. So you should watch while the cashier scans to make sure the coupon gets correctly scanned and when or if it doesn’t… SAY SOMETHING.
Now aside from groceries, I have some really great deals to offer you all as an affiliate. Please use the highlighted links I post here in order to receive the sale price and or have the coupon code apply.
Also, please follow Meals, Steals & Family Deals on Facebook for additional sales links through out the week. I can only list my top 5 on the blog the rest I will post via Facebook.
