Learn to Bake Bread at the Newly Opened Le Pain Quotidien

I love bread and when I heard that Le Pain Quotidien was opening here in Orange County, I counted the days until the grand opening. Now that the successful Belgian bakery is serving warm crusty loafs of bread along with bowls of rich coffee at its Fashion Island location, hardly a few days go by without a drop in visit by moi.

The Fashion Island location is one of only TWO locations in the world that offers baking classes to the public. Kids are welcome to attend the classes and learn how to make organic bread the old-fashioned way–kneading and shaping bread then cooking it in a hearth.

For the record, I’m one hundred percent behind the idea of teaching kids to make bread. The more bread-makers in the world, the more bread. The happier place the world will be.
